Workshop on the Code of conduct and Professional competencies for psychologists

07 Jul 2025

The Psychology Board of Australia (the Board) invites you to join us for an online workshop about the new Code of conduct and the updated Professional competencies for psychologists, which both come into effect on 1 December 2025.

These professional standards will set the expectation of what is considered safe and effective professional practice in the psychology profession from December 2025 onwards. Psychologists will need to familiarise themselves with and adopt the code and competencies by the time they come into effect.

The workshop will include a panel of experts who will use case studies to show how to practically apply the Code of Conduct. A Q&A session will be held at the end of the workshop.

Dates

We are hosting the workshop on the below dates:

Workshop 1:   Tuesday 22nd July 6.00pm – 7.30pm AEST
Workshop 2:   Tuesday 29th July 12pm – 1.30pm AEST

Resources

We highly recommend reviewing the following resources before you attend:

  • A comprehensive pre-recorded webinar, where Board Chair Rachel Phillips provides information about transitioning to the Code and Professional competencies.
  • Case studies that will be discussed during the live workshop.
  • The Professional Competencies and supplementary resources on the Board’s webpage
  • The Code of conduct, plus corresponding resources on the Board’s webpage.

This will give you the context you will need to fully engage with the workshop.
